The sisters came to congratulate the man on two important dates at once - the day of his heavenly patron and his upcoming birthday.

The sisters prepared gifts: an icon of St. Prince Vladimir and an elegant fish figurine. This ancient Christian symbol became a reminder of the apostolic feat of the prince, who brought the light of faith on our lands and baptized the people in the waters of the Dnieper.

In addition, the sisters gave Vladimir food from the “basket of mercy”, installed with the blessing of the confessor at the doors of the church, where each parishioner can contribute to help those in need.

Vladimir greeted the guests with great warmth. Over a cup of coffee and birthday cake, he blew out the candles, making his deepest wish. The owner of the house is happy to...

Nice touch with the little fish figurine – I hadn't thought of it as a link to Prince Vladimir's baptism in the Dnieper before. Sounds like Vladimir had a proper cosy time with the cake and coffee. Our parish basket for the needy is a good idea too; I must remember to drop something in next Sunday.
