Good that the children saw live horses up close, that's better than just in pictures. In our garden we only have pigeons, but I remember how as a little girl I rode a horse at my grandmother's in the village. Hope nobody got cold, it's not exactly warm outside.
Yes, live horses completely change it, you realize how big they are and how they smell. I also only have chickens and a few rabbits in our garden, but the memories from my childhood in the village are the best. I hope that the children have at least stiffened a little, we immediately warmed them up with tea at home.
