Pupils of the inclusive center "Sunny Circle" visited the shrines of Alatyrtranslated

On July 25, pupils of the inclusive center “Solar Circle” at the St. John the Baptist Church in the city of Ulyanovsk, together with their parents and volunteers, made a trip to the city of Alatyr. The trip took place at the invitation of the head of the department for charity and social service of the Alatyr diocese, the head of the center for helping disabled children in the name of St. Luke of Voino-Yasenetsky, the rector of the church in honor of the Beheading of the Head of John the Baptist of the city of Alatyr, Archpriest Andrey Savenkov, and the head of the center for helping disabled children “Luke” Elena Yakovunik.
The first point of the program was a visit to the church in honor of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. Here the guests were met by a priest who gave a tour and a conversation with the children. Then the trip participants visited the Kiev-Nicholas Novodevichy Convent. The abbess of the monastery, Abbess Elisaveta (Krivosheeva), opened the temples for pilgrims and spoke about the monastic shrines.
Next, the group headed to the temple in honor of the Beheading of John the Baptist. The rector of the temple, Archpriest Andrei Savenkov, spoke about the history of the temple and its icons, answered the children’s questions and anointed the parents and children with holy oil.
