Pupils of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon took part in the Exaltation of the Cross questtranslated

On the day of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, students of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon gathered together to take part in the educational quest of the Exaltation of the Cross.

The participants of the event made a symbolic journey to the 4th century - during the time of the holy Queen Helen Equal to the Apostles, who went in search of the Cross on which the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified.

Several thematic stations were waiting for the guys. At each of them, they became acquainted with historical events and church tradition, remembered the meaning of the Cross of the Lord and learned about the various forms of the cross. In particular, the participants got acquainted with the St. Andrew's cross and the history of the St. Andrew's flag, and also learned about the cross of the Apostle Peter and the historical and cultural images associated with it. At the final station, the children found a scroll with the words of the Savior from the Gospel of John: “I am the vine, and you are the branches” (John 15:5). Together, the participants reflected on the fact that Christian life and its good fruits are impossible without unity with Christ.

At the symbolic Golgotha, decorated with vines, the children sang a prayer to the Holy Cross together. The holiday ended with a joyful surprise: the participants discovered...
