Volunteer coordinators involved in the organization of the International Meeting of Orthodox Youth 2026 were awarded on Tuesday for their support. "We thank you for the time given to others, it is the only time earned," said Vicar Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.
The award ceremony took place in the "Europa Christiana" Hall of the Palace of the Patriarchate. Archid. Eugen Maftei, diocesan counselor at the Education and Youth Activities Sector of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, highlighted the role of volunteers in the smooth running of ITO 2026.
"Behind the beautiful events, the successful activities and the attractive program, there were hours of hard work, sustained effort and dedication."
"The work of most of you has not been seen, but this does not mean that it did not exist and that it was not appreciated," the diocesan councilor emphasized.
Archid. Eugen Maftei expressed his hope that young people will continue to get involved in future projects of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.
