Bishop Dimitrije served in Mostartranslated

September 7, 2026 · 1 min read

On the fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Dimitrije served the Holy Liturgy in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mostar, with the participation of the Mostar brotherhood.

In the gospel sermon, Metropolitan Dimitrije explained that today's description of the wedding is a continuation of the story of the evil husbandmen, there the Old Testament time is in the center of attention, and here the sending of the Son of God into the world - the Lord does not resort to anger, but makes a wedding for his Son, which is the Church, the Resurrection of Christ. Referring to the fathers, the Metropolitan explained that the lack of wedding clothes represents the man's intention to embarrass the host. It is a picture of ancient times, when the host prepared everything, as the Lord dresses a man in a white robe at baptism. The Lord has prepared everything, and it is up to man to enter that life, to respond and to live for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Thanks for the article. The explanation about the wedding dress was particularly clear to me - that it is like the white dress at baptism that the Lord gives us, and we only need to preserve it and live in it. In Mostar, it's always nice when the metropolitan serves, the brotherhood does well there.
