Bishop Dimitrije served in Metkovićtranslated

On the holiday of Holy Venerable Petka Paraskeva, His Eminence Metropolitan Dimitrije celebrated the Holy Liturgy in the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Georgi in Metković, with priest Milan Stanjević and deacon Miloš Bjelica concelebrating.
In the gospel sermon, the Metropolitan explained that five wise and five foolish girls are waiting for the Bridegroom. That picture is a depiction of the secret of human life on earth: God created us and called us not only to this life, but also to the eternal one, to the Kingdom of Heaven, which is greater than heaven. The oil in the lamps, according to the interpretation of Saint Seraphim of Sarovsk, is the grace of the Holy Spirit, which the wise girls collected throughout their lives: through good deeds, prayer and charity. Through such actions, a personal experience of relationship with the living God is achieved. The Bishop warned that at the Last Judgment it will be revealed who is wise and who is crazy. Everyone will stand before Christ personally, "face to face". No one will be able to supply oil to a person, because everyone must have their own experience of God's love and Christ, through Communion and prayer life.
