The shepherd of the diocese receives the Lebanese Ambassador to Brazil at the Archbishopric House Zahle - Friday, September 18, 2026 His Eminence Metropolitan Antonios (Soury), the most respected, received at the Archdiocese House His Excellency the Lebanese Ambassador to Brazil, Mr. Elias Nicola, accompanied by His Excellency Ambassador Elie Al-Turk, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, in the presence of Mr. Nicola Abu Faisal, President of the Industrialists’ Association in the Bekaa and Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Gardenia Grande d’Or Companies, on Friday, On September 18, 2026. The visit came within the framework of getting to know each other and consolidating the bonds of communication, as the Sovereign welcomed his guests, stressing the importance of the role played by the Lebanese embassy in Brazil in taking care of the affairs of the Lebanese community, strengthening its ties with its motherland, and maintaining bridges of communication between Lebanon and its people spread around the world.
His Eminence also praised Ambassador Nicolas's activity and excellence in performing his diplomatic duties. For his part, His Excellency Ambassador Nicolas expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency for the warm reception, extending an invitation to him to visit Brazil, and expressing his hope that he would have the opportunity to meet with members of the Lebanese community there soon. The meeting reflected the importance of communication between the Church and Lebanese diplomatic institutions, in a way that strengthens the bonds of belonging and deepens the ties between Lebanon and its people in the countries of expansion. His Excellency presented to His Excellency Ambassador Nicolas the “Lord of Joy” icon and a distinctive Lebanese wine, as a token of love and appreciation.
