The vestment of St. Demetrius the New and the books with his akathist arrived at Ploiești and Târgșorul Nou Penitentiariestranslated

The reliquary with a vestment that covered the relics of St. Cuv. Dimitrie the New, as well as numerous booklets with his akathist arrived on Tuesday at the Ploiești Penitentiary and the Ploiești-Târgșorul Nou Women's Penitentiary.

At the chapels of the two Prahov detention institutions, the service of the Akathist of Saint Demetrius the New was held, and the persons deprived of their liberty and the penitentiary staff received, from His Beatitude Father Patriarch Daniel, a copy of the saint's akathist.

The coordinator of the activity, father Ciprian Ioniță, patriarchal adviser at the Social-Philanthropic Sector of the Patriarchal Administration, took the vestments and gifts to the two penitentiaries, after a similar action took place on Monday at the Jilava and Rahova penitentiaries.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the National Administration of Penitentiaries, Father Cristian Antonescu, the coordinator of the priests in the penitentiaries, also participated in the activities on Monday and Tuesday.
