On September 17, a traditional procession was held in Zheleznogorsk, dedicated to the feast day of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos "The Immaculate Censer," which is considered the patroness of firefighters.
In the Cathedral of Archangel Michael, Divine Liturgy was celebrated early in the morning. After the divine service, employees from Special Division Fire Prevention Service No. 2, Test Fire Laboratory, and cadets from Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy of the Federal Security Service of Russia, together with clergy from the Zheleznogorsk Parish District, proceeded on a procession from the cathedral to the chapel on the premises of Fire Station No. 10, consecrated in honor of the celebrated image.
The procession was led by the Dean of the Zheleznogorsk Parochial District, Archpriest Roman Neshchert, and the clergyman of the church, Hieromonk Alexei Meshcheryakov.
Upon arrival at the chapel, the clergy served a prayer for the welfare of fire prevention service personnel. Father Roman congratulated the firefighters on the feast day, noting its special significance for people whose work involves risk.
