In the Trinity Church on the street. International Liturgy with sign language interpretation was celebrated for the first time on International Day of the Deaftranslated

On September 27, 2026, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord and on the International Day of the Deaf, the Divine Liturgy with sign language interpretation was celebrated for the first time in the Trinity Church on International Street of the South-Western Deanery of Rostov-on-Don.

To provide sign language interpretation during the service, the rector of the church in honor of the Sovereign Icon of the Mother of God, Priest Anthony Osyak, and his assistants, sign language interpreters Vadim Selin and Alexey Polityuk, arrived.

The deputy chairman of the Rostov branch of the All-Russian Society of the Deaf, Rita Denisenko, and numerous members of the society prayed during the service.

In his sermon, the rector of the Trinity Church, Archpriest John Osyak, spoke about the meaning of the Cross of the Lord in the life of a Christian, emphasizing that the Lord gives each person a cross according to his strength.

At the end of the Liturgy, Archpriest John Osyak thanked Priest Anthony Osyak, the sign language interpreters and all the guests for joint prayer and spiritual communication. Those who especially worked in organizing the service were presented with letters of gratitude from the dean of the parishes of the South-Western District.

Next, a meal was organized for all participants, prepared by the sisters of mercy of the parish.
