The Svetlogorsk deanery prayerfully honored the memory of Archimandrite Alexy (Zhelenka)translated

On July 21, 2026, on the day of celebration in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the fifth anniversary of the repose of Archimandrite Alexy (Zhelenka), the Svetlogorsk deanery prayerfully honored the memory of the ever-memorable shepherd.

The Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the city of Svetlogorsk was led by the dean of the churches of the Svetlogorsk district, Archpriest Alexander Kisel, co-served by the clergy of the deanery.

With the blessing of His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, at the funeral litany a special commemoration was made of the ever-memorable Archimandrite Alexy, who reposed in the Lord on July 21, 2021 after a long illness.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the clergy and parishioners performed a memorial service for the repose of the soul of the deceased shepherd.

Archpriest Alexander Kisel congratulated the believers on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the communicants on the reception of the Holy Mysteries of Christ, after which he addressed the worshipers with a word of edification. The dean recalled the importance of prayerful memory of the deceased and called for gratitude to those shepherds who dedicated their lives to serving God and people.
