Navy Day was prayerfully celebrated in Svetlogorsktranslated

On July 26, 2026, on the eve of Navy Day, a solemn prayer service took place in the parish of the Church of St. Cyril of Turov in the city of Svetlogorsk. The rector of the parish, Archpriest Sergius Kisel, together with employees of the navy, performed a prayer service for every good deed, asking the Lord for blessings and help in all good endeavors.
According to established tradition, on the last Sunday of July, the Maritime Brotherhood of Belarus celebrates Navy Day. On this day, military personnel and veteran sailors come together to honor the memory of their fallen comrades.
After the prayer service, all those present offered special prayers for the repose of the souls of the fallen sailors who gave their lives in defense of the Fatherland.
At the end of the service, Archpriest Sergius Kisel addressed those gathered with a pastoral speech, in which he noted the importance of preserving the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland and thanked the sailors for their loyalty to military duty. The priest wished everyone good health, prosperity and God's help in carrying out difficult military service.
