On October 9, on the day of remembrance of the holy apostle and evangelist John the Theologian, in the village of Goyany, Dubossary district, with the blessing of His Eminence Savva, Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary, the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the church under construction dedicated to this apostle. The service was led by the dean of the Dubossary district, Archpriest Georgy Lisovsky, who was co-served by the clergy of the Dubossary deanery and the rector of the parish, Priest John Popescu. The celebration of the first Divine Liturgy became an important event in the life of the Orthodox community of the village of Goyany.
