With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', an ark with part of the relics of the holy blessed Matrona of Moscow will be brought to the Simbirsk diocese.
The shrine will remain from August 12 to August 23 in the Spaso-Voznesensky Cathedral in Ulyanovsk.
Holy Blessed Matrona of Moscow is one of the most revered Russian saints of the 20th century. The ark with part of the relics of the blessed old woman is brought to the Simbirsk diocese from the homeland of Saint Matrona - from the Tula diocese.
Blessed Matrona was born in 1885 in the village of Sebino, Tula region, into a poor family. She was blind from birth, but the Lord gave her spiritual sight. Through her prayers, people received healing from illnesses and consolation in sorrows. From 1925 until the end of her days, Blessed Matrona lived in Moscow.
