Sosnovy Bor Sunday school held an open lesson dedicated to the beginning of the school yeartranslated

On October 3, an open lesson dedicated to the beginning of the new school year was held at the Sunday school named after St. Sergius of Radonezh at the Church of the Entry into the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the city of Sosnovoborsk. It was attended by students, teachers, parents, the rector of the church, Archpriest Nikolai Chikhichin, and the school’s confessor, Priest Andrei Ermolaev.
The lesson began with general prayer. Young readers greeted those gathered with poems, after which the children were presented with a video story about the priests. Then a song dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh was performed by a children's Orthodox choir. The children were reminded of the story of the youth Bartholomew, the future St. Sergius, who as a child could not master reading and writing, but through prayer and faith received miraculous help. The children watched a video about this event and answered quiz questions about the life of the saint, and the most attentive received prizes.
At the end of the lesson, Father Nikolai addressed the children with a pastoral word, blessed them for the new school year and handed each of them a prayer book. The school's confessor, Priest Andrei Ermolaev, also addressed the children and parents.
The holiday continued with a common prayer and meal. The open lesson was not only a joyful event,…
