Vyborg schools held lessons dedicated to the holy righteous warrior Theodore Ushakovtranslated

Last week, when the Russian Orthodox Church commemorated the holy righteous warrior Theodore Ushakov, thematic lessons dedicated to the outstanding Russian naval commander were held at school No. 12 and gymnasium No. 11 in the city of Vyborg.
The meetings with schoolchildren were conducted by the cleric of the St. Elias Church of Vyborg, Priest Anthony Bykov.
Father Anthony told the students about the life and military exploits of Admiral Feodor Ushakov, his deep faith and service to the Fatherland. Particular attention was paid to how the personality of the famous naval commander combined courage, military valor, mercy and loyalty to Christian beliefs.
The words “Life to the Motherland, soul to God,” which became a well-known motto associated with the name of Feodor Ushakov, helped express the main idea of the meeting: devoted service to the Fatherland and sincere faith can form the single foundation of human life.
