15 parishes of a non-canonical group of believers in Nigeria plan to transfer to the Russian Orthodox Churchtranslated

A large non-canonical Orthodox group, uniting 15 parishes with believers, plans to move into the fold of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The issue of this was considered during a trip to Nigeria at the end of September - beginning of October 2026, the chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest Georgy Maximov, reports the website of the Patriarchal Exarchate.
On September 26, Father George, accompanied by the dean of the parishes in Nigeria, Priest Daniel Agbaza, arrived in Anabra state, where he met with the leaders of a large non-canonical Orthodox group wishing to convert to the Russian Orthodox Church.
It is noted that during the conversation, the procedure and catechesis plan for all 15 parishes of this group were discussed.
On this and subsequent days, Priest Georgy Maximov, accompanied by the Nigerian Orthodox clergy, visited four parishes of the above-mentioned group.
On September 26, the head of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa visited the community in the village of Nzama (Anambra State), with sermons on Orthodoxy, on September 28 - in the village of Otuocha (Anambra State), on September 29 - in Enugu State and on September 30 - in Imo State.
