Married couples with many years of marital experience were honored at the Russian House in Gomeltranslated

On July 10, an evening dedicated to the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity was held at the Russian House in Gomel. The couple, whose journey together spans more than 25 years, gathered at the festive table.

The event was attended by the chairman of the department for family issues, protection of motherhood and childhood of the Gomel diocese, Archpriest Artemy Krivitsky, and department coordinator Olga Anatolyevna Krivitskaya.

The head of the Russian House, Alexander Morzhukhin, greeted the participants and drew attention to the fact that behind every strong family there is many years of work of the spouses, the ability to maintain mutual respect and support each other in different circumstances of life.

During the evening, Archpriest Artemy Krivitsky spoke about the holy noble princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom, whose memory is associated with the Christian understanding of family fidelity. He also presented an exhibition of works by artist Alexander Prostev, dedicated to the lives of the holy spouses.

On behalf of His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, Father Artemy gave the families an archpastoral blessing, icons of Saints Peter and Fevronia and memorable gifts.

The meeting ended with the presentation of medals “For Love and Fidelity.” Seven awards were received...
