The Russian Orthodox Church explained the dangers of marrying an Orthodox woman to a Muslimtranslated

From the point of view of church canons, the marriage of an Orthodox woman with a Muslim man may be permissible, but such a union can be accompanied by serious difficulties. Archpriest Mikhail Samokhin, representing the Pyatigorsk and Circassian diocese, spoke about this. According to him, it is impossible to determine in advance how exactly an interfaith family will develop.

The reason for the comment was the appeal of a woman who spoke about her relationship with a Muslim man. According to her, the chosen one respects her faith, does not require her to renounce Christianity, does not interfere with visiting the church, and is ready to defend their relationship in front of his relatives. The couple is also discussing the children's future and intends to introduce them to both religious traditions, giving them the opportunity to make their own choices as adults.
Samokhin noted that over the years of pastoral service he had seen various examples of such unions. In some cases, families were preserved and developed successfully, in others serious conflicts arose. The clergyman emphasized that there is no universal scenario for interfaith marriage.
