Teachers' Day is celebrated in Russiatranslated

On October 5, Russian teachers celebrate their professional holiday, Teacher's Day, which is part of World Teachers' Day, also celebrated on this day.
Initially, Teacher's Day in our country was established by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in September 1965.
Until 1994, it was celebrated annually on the first Sunday of October, but since 1994, according to the Decree of the President of Russia, it is celebrated together with World Teachers Day on October 5.
The last holiday, in turn, was established by UNESCO in 1994.
On Teacher's Day, Russian teachers accept congratulations from parents and students, and various concerts and other events are organized in their honor on this day.
Since 1989, the country has held a professional All-Russian competition for teachers, “Teacher of the Year,” in which the best, talented Russian teachers are determined.
In one of his sermons, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill called on teachers not to forget about their pedagogical mission and to take care of the state of the souls of their students.
