It’s good that the guys went to these very places - I know the Trinity and Spaso-Preobrazhensky monasteries in Penza, it’s always quiet and bright there. I wonder if there were many sketches from the Moksha Kazan Monastery?

It’s good that we stopped by Maksimovka and Vladykino, there are churches on such beautiful hills, especially Sergievsky. I have my own relatives who lived nearby, I remember how in my childhood we went to Kazanskaya to the Mokshansky monastery. Peter, have you ever been to these places with paints?

Good thing they also reached the Kazan Monastery in Mokshan, that place has a special light in the morning on the hill. I drove by there two years ago when I took some relatives to Penza, and the white church on the coast stuck in my head. Did they also paint the interior of any of the churches in Maximovka?

It's good that the students also painted in the Mokshan Kazan monastery and in these village churches on the hills. I remember once when my husband and I were driving through Maksimovka and this Serbian hill on the hill caught my eye - white, simple, and the light was so calm. I wonder if anyone managed to capture the morning light that Alexandru writes about.

Yes, the St. Sergius Church on the hill is especially beautiful, the light falls so beautifully on the walls. I also went to the Moksha Monastery on Kazanskaya a couple of times; they always sold delicious apples there after the service. Peter, did you go with the guys this year or were you just planning?
