As part of the competition program of the XXXVII Open Documentary Film Festival “Russia” in Yekaterinburg, tomorrow, October 3, 2026, in the Great Hall of the House of Cinema, at 15:30 the film “Service. Father Vasily."
The hero of the film is the cleric of the Yekaterinburg diocese, Archpriest Vasily Zudilov. At the very beginning of the Special Military Operation, being a former career military man, he went to the front as a volunteer and became a regimental priest. His son Dmitry followed his example.
“This is a film about loyalty to convictions, faith and duty - a family story woven into the context of Big History,” said the organizers of the premiere screening.
The film was produced by the Uralfilm studio with the blessing of Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Evgeniy with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
“When I read about Father Vasily in Rossiyskaya Gazeta, I realized that I had to make a film about this man,” said the film’s director Andrei Titov.
Let us remind you that the premiere screening of the documentary film took place in Yekaterinburg, at the Church-Monument on the Blood, on May 19, 2026.
