On September 26, on the eve of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, Archbishop Nikanor of Yuzhno-Sakhalin and Kuril celebrated an all-night vigil at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

Polyeleos was performed according to the rules in the altar.

After the Great Doxology, Bishop Nikanor, while singing the Trisagion, took the Cross of the Lord out of the altar and placed it on the lectern in the center of the cathedral. At this moment, the believers knelt reverently.

After censing three times, the rite of the Exaltation of the Cross was performed.

On September 27, on the very day of the holiday, Archbishop Nikanor of South Sakhalin and Kuril celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the cathedral.

His Eminence was co-served by the rector of the Lukinsky Church, Archpriest Andrei Chugunov, the keymaster of the cathedral, Priest Alexander Bragin, and the cathedral clergy.

At the special litany, special petitions were offered, then the archpastor read a prayer for Holy Russia.

At the end of the Liturgy, the Cross was venerated, after which the hierarch addressed those present with a sermon.
