On the feast of the Beheading of the Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, Bishop Artemy of Taganrog celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Mid-Pentecost in Rostov-on-Dontranslated

On September 11, 2026, on the feast of the Beheading of the Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, the vicar of the Rostov diocese, Bishop Artemy of Taganrog, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Half-Pentecost at the Don Theological Seminary in the city of Rostov-on-Don.

His Eminence was co-served by the rector of the Prepolovensky Church, the vice-rector for educational work, Priest Andrei Mironov, the head of the magistracy department, Archpriest Grigory Gridnev, and the clergy of the church.

At the special litany, a prayer was offered for Holy Rus'. The hymns of the service were performed by a mixed choir under the direction of the head of the regency and singing department of the Don Theological Seminary, Hieromonk Averky (Shaposhnikov).

The sermon before Holy Communion was delivered by Priest Evgeniy Zavgorodniy.

At the end of the service, glorification was made to the Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, after which His Eminence addressed the worshipers with an archpastoral word, conveying the blessing of Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk.
