On the feast of the Nativity of the Baptist John, Bishop Ignatius led the patronal celebration in Novopolotsktranslated

On July 7, on the feast of the Nativity of the venerable, glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoe led the patronal celebration in the Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist of the Parish of the Church of the Holy Archangel Michael in Novopolotsk.

At the walls of the church, Bishop Ignatius was met with a festive loaf of bread and flowers by Sunday school students.

His Eminence was served by: the secretary of the Polotsk diocese, Archpriest Alexander Petlitsky, the dean of the Polotsk church district and the rector of the church, Archpriest Alexander Shakhovich, Hieromonk Tikhon (Chernikov), Priest Andrei Babushkin, Priest Tikhon Antukh, Deacon Vladimir Dzhezhora, Deacon Boris Marmuzevich.

The liturgical hymns were performed by the parish choir under the direction of Zhanna Tarasevich.

During the service, intense prayer requests for the restoration of peace were offered.

Based on the sacramental verse, Priest Tikhon Antukh delivered the sermon.

Following the prayer behind the pulpit, His Eminence and the concelebrating clergy performed a prayer service to the Holy Prophet and Baptist of the Lord John and the consecration of the fragrant potion.

After the dismissal, the archpastor addressed those praying with a word of edification.

The kids with the bread and flowers outside the church looked so sweet. Nice to see Fr. Тихон Антух preach the sermon too. Glory to God for the feast.

The kids meeting the bishop with the karavai and flowers is a lovely touch, always makes the feast feel proper. Good to see Fr Тихон Антух preaching as well. Glory to God.

Yeah, the Sunday school kids with the karavai really set the tone. I also liked that Fr. Тихон Антух preached right after Communion — his words always feel straightforward and hit home. Glory to God for the whole day.
