The XVIII military-patriotic sports rally of Orthodox youth started in Polotsktranslated

On June 22, the XVIII military-patriotic sports rally of Orthodox youth began its work on the basis of the border detachment of the city of Polotsk. The event is timed to coincide with two memorable dates: the 85th anniversary of the feat of the border guards in the first days of the Great Patriotic War and the 910th anniversary of the repose of St. Mina, Bishop of Polotsk.
From the Polotsk diocese, Priest Tikhon Antukh, Priest Georgy Dubovsky and the “Archangel” detachment are taking part.

The ceremonial opening of the meeting was preceded by an early Divine Liturgy, celebrated at 4 a.m. on the territory of the military unit. A tour of the unit was organized for the participants, which allowed them to become better acquainted with the conditions of service and the life of modern border defenders.
The program of the first day included a presentation of video business cards of the teams, as well as a collective viewing of the feature film “Brest Fortress”, which set a high emotional tone for the entire meeting. The eventful day ended with a traditional “bonfire of friendship” at the walls of the unit and joint evening prayer.
