A chapel was consecrated in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in memory of the defenders of the Fatherlandtranslated

On September 3, the day of the end of World War II, the grand opening of the memorial chapel took place in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on the observation deck in the area of Vysotnaya Street. It is dedicated to the defenders of the Fatherland who fell and went missing on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, as well as in other local wars and armed conflicts.

The chapel in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was created in memory of the participants in the Kuril landing operation of 1945. The memorial was erected with the support of the FSB and the Russian Ministry of Defense. The program provides for the construction of chapels in the places of the most fierce battles and manifestations of mass heroism. Similar memorials have already been installed in 21 cities of Russia and the Republic of Belarus.

After the opening ceremony, the chapel was consecrated by Archpriest Vladimir Bogoslavsky, head of the diocesan department for interaction with the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, co-served by clergy of the diocese.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the leadership and employees of the central office of the FSB of Russia, the FSB Directorate of Russia for the Kamchatka Territory, the Border Directorate of the FSB for the Eastern Arctic region, representatives of the government of the Kamchatka Territory, military personnel...
