A new school year has begun in Sunday school at the Odigitrievsky Monasterytranslated

After the summer holidays, Sunday school pupils again gathered at the Odigitrievsky Convent. According to tradition, teachers, children and parents began the school year with a common prayer. The children sang themselves and read opening prayers and psalms. The director and confessor of the school, Priest Alexey Polyakov, addressed the students with a parting word, wishing them diligence, patience and God’s help. This year, 80 children will attend Sunday school, many of them from the age of six. New programs were prepared for the students, taking into account the age of the classes, and new mentors joined the teaching. The school's first general outing will take place on September 27, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The pupils, together with their parents and mentors, will go to the St. Simeon Cathedral, where at 13:00 a prayer service with an akathist will be performed in front of the ark with the relics of the blessed Matrona of Moscow. The children will participate in the worship service - singing and reading prayers. The students have a new school year ahead, filled with classes, joint activities and meetings.
