On July 1, 2026, on Combat Veterans Day, a memorial event in honor of Russian military personnel was held at the Black Tulip memorial complex in Novokuznetsk.
The event was attended by the rector of the Church of St. Nicholas, Archpriest Alexei Kuznetsov, the full-time cleric of the Church of St. St. Sergius of Radonezh, priest Artemy Artemov, city mayor Denis Pavlovich Ilyin, representatives of the Novokuznetsk city branch of the RSVA and SVO, combat veterans and their relatives.
On this day, words of gratitude were heard to veterans for their courage, perseverance and devotion to the Motherland. Their feat, loyalty to military brotherhood and service to the Fatherland remain an example for all generations. Those gathered honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the memorial.
