Hello, how beautiful it is for the Episcopal Festival to be held just before the monastery’s feast day. I remember how quiet and filled with chants the atmosphere was on such nights. God bless the nuns there.

The sequence sounds nice. I remember going fishing with the group near Yekaterinburg years ago and passing the monastery – the silence at that time of night is unforgettable. Happy birthday to the holiday.

Michel, the Episcopal celebration really gives a different flavor to the feast. I love how the hymns are stronger and the silence fills the church before dawn. Have you ever visited the monastery there?

In Novo-Tikhvinskaya it’s true that it’s always quiet and special in front of the throne. I remember how my mother and I went there ten years ago on the eve of Tikhvinskaya - the service went on for a long time, and after it the sisters drank more tea in the refectory. Nice place.

Michelle, I completely agree with you, the carols that night are memorable. I remember how the nuns slowly carried candles as they entered the church. Do you know if they celebrate the same way every year?

Yes, Anton, the candles moving slowly in the darkness were truly one of the most beautiful things about that night. I also have a picture of the nuns walking quietly. I think the method remains the same every year, because the monastery strictly maintains the old traditions. Did you come with Michelle again after that?

No, I never visited the monastery there, but your words made me imagine the atmosphere. Here in Homs, the chanting at night is really stronger, especially when the priest raises his voice before dawn. Have you visited him many times, Rania?

Yes, Myrna, the candles really created a special atmosphere. I love how they keep the same arrangement every year, even with their quiet walks. As for me, I did not go with Michelle again, but my daughter accompanied me last year and she liked the service very much.

Yes, Carla, the candles and the quiet walk really make the atmosphere different. Did your daughter go with you last year? Which part in particular did she like, the singing or the preparation before the service? I always take a small thyme bread with me for the children after prayer.

Yes, Myrna, the candles were indeed moving slowly and softly illuminating the faces. I love how they stick to the same traditions every year, even down to the number of steps. As for me, I went with my neighbor this year, and I noticed that the nuns added a new, light chant at the end.

Yes, I also liked this new, light chant. I felt it suited the silence after the candles. I was with my daughter this year, and we noticed that the nuns walked with exactly the same steps as last year. Did you ask your neighbor about this hymn?

Yes, Nadine, these candles were really calming and beautiful. I felt like they reminded me of the long days of sewing in the winter when the light was dim. This new chant changed the atmosphere a little without ruining the old traditions. You asked your neighbor if the nuns were the ones we chose or if they came from the diocese?
