A judo tournament for the Cup of Equal-to-the-Apostles Nicholas of Japan took place in Mozdoktranslated

On September 5, 2026, with the blessing of Archbishop Gerasim of Vladikavkaz and Alan, a judo tournament for the Cup of Equal-to-the-Apostles Nicholas of Japan was held in the city of Mozdok.  This year marks the 190th anniversary of the birth of this saint, the enlightener of Japan. The tournament was also timed to coincide with the traditional religious procession with the icon of the Mozdok Mother of God.  Teams from Mozdok, Vladikavkaz, Stavropol Territory, Kabardino-Balkaria, Dagestan and Ingushetia took part in the competition. More than 150 athletes took part in the tournament.
