A festive event was held in Mezhdurechensk in the Denb of family, love and fidelitytranslated

On July 8, 2026, on the day of remembrance of the holy noble princes Peter and Fevronia, the Murom miracle workers, the heavenly patrons of Christian marriage and family, a festive event dedicated to the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity was held in the Church of St. Nicholas in the city of Mezhdurechensk at the end of the Divine Liturgy.

The rector of the church, Archpriest Maxim Grebenyuk, cordially congratulated the regular priest of the church, Priest George Samarin, and Mother Ksenia on their anniversary - the 15th anniversary of married life. Father Maxim wished the spouses good health, God's help, peace, mutual love, family well-being and many years of joint service to the Church of Christ.

Special words of gratitude and congratulations were also addressed to large families of the parish raising four or more children. As a sign of respect for their work, love and loyalty to their family calling, they were presented with memorable gifts.

In his address, Father Maxim emphasized that a strong family, based on faith, love, mutual respect and sacrificial service to each other, is a great value and pillar of society. How nice it is for Father Georgiy and Ksenia's family, 15 years together serving in the parish. I liked that they especially congratulated families with four or more children and gave them gifts, it shows. Hopefully in our parish we will also do something like this next year.

It is good that Father Maksym congratulated Father George and Mother Ksenia on their 15th anniversary. We also have several families with many children in our parish, but such gifts for Peter and Fevronia have not yet been presented. Maybe it should be introduced in our country too, because the example is important.

Father Maxim did well to single out Fr. Georgiy and Ksenia on their 15th anniversary right after the Liturgy — that kind of example sticks with people. Our parish has a couple of big families with four or five kids too; handing out small gifts on Peter and Fevronia’s day seems like a practical way to show we notice the work they put in. Might mention it to our priest.

Yes, in our parish too, it is felt that a small concrete gift stays in the mind longer than a simple kind word. Last year I knitted two sets of gloves myself for the children of a family of six, they wore them all winter. Do you think something practical would work, like a basket of household products, or better yet something related to the icon of Saints Peter and Fevronia?
