A meeting of students with a clergyman took place at the Magadan College of Artstranslated

On October 20, 2026, at the Magadan College of Arts, a meeting of students was held with the head of the youth affairs department of the Magadan diocese, Priest Ilya Efremov. The event was the first in a series of spiritual and educational meetings organized within the framework of a cooperation agreement between the Magadan diocese and the college. The topic of the first conversation was Science and religion.

During the meeting, the priest spoke about the relationship between scientific and religious worldviews, touched upon issues of knowledge of the surrounding world, the relationship between faith and reason, as well as common ideas about the contradictions between science and religion. Particular attention was paid to the fact that scientific knowledge and religious faith address different aspects of human existence and do not necessarily contradict each other. Such meetings are aimed at the spiritual and moral education of youth, broadening the horizons of students and creating conditions for open dialogue on current ideological issues. In the future, within the framework of the cooperation program, it is planned to continue a series of meetings devoted to issues of faith, morality and spiritual values.
