Nice to see the icon visiting Kstovo with the relic. Matrona’s always been a big help for family matters and health stuff in our parish too. Did they bring her to the main cathedral first?

Yes, they did start at the cathedral in Kstovo before taking her around the deanery. Our small group prayed in front of a copy of that same icon last month when my aunt was in the hospital, and things turned around faster than we expected. Glad it made the rounds.

Yes, they started at the Cathedral of the Nativity before taking her around to the other churches in the deanery. Our parish has seen a lot of help through her too, especially with kids’ health issues. Have you or Sarah ever gone up to her in Moscow?

Our parish brought the icon through last spring and quite a few of us noticed improvement with the children's coughs and fevers afterwards. I haven't made it to Moscow yet, but my older daughter keeps asking if we can go together one day. Did the line at the cathedral take long when you visited?

Our parish had the icon visit last fall too, and my youngest got over a stubborn ear infection right after we prayed with her. Never made it to Moscow myself, but how was the line when you went?

Paul Collins
Yes, we took our little one to the Cathedral of the Nativity when the icon was there last year and the queue moved quicker than I expected, maybe an hour and a half. Sarah’s been meaning to go to Moscow with her but we haven’t managed it yet. Your parish sounds like it’s had some proper answers through her as well.

We took our kids to the same cathedral last summer too — the line was surprisingly calm, just like you said. Our youngest lit a candle for her grandma’s health and things really turned around for her after that. Have you thought about bringing your little one to our parish when the icon comes through again?

Michael Smith
Our parish had the icon visit last fall too, and my youngest grandson's persistent cough cleared up within a week, which surprised even his pediatrician. The line at the cathedral in Moscow wasn't bad on a weekday morning, maybe forty minutes. Has your daughter picked a season she wants to go?
M
Mary Adams
We did bring our daughter last time the icon came through — she was quiet the whole wait, which is rare for her. Nice to hear your youngest’s candle helped her grandma so quickly. Does your parish usually host it in the fall?

Our parish had the icon last spring and my mum's knee pain eased up after we prayed in front of it too. The line here in Kstovo stretched about three hours on the first day, nothing like Moscow though. Did your little one have any trouble waiting in line or was he too young?
M
Margaret Evans
Our little Sasha was only four, so we took turns carrying him on our shoulders when his legs gave out. Three hours is long but the quiet prayers along the way made it bearable. Glad your mum felt some relief too.

Our parish saw the icon last spring, and my aunt's arthritis eased up enough that she could bake her usual pirozhki again without complaining. That's wonderful about your grandson—kids bounce back so fast sometimes. Did the line in Moscow move quicker because it was a weekday, or was it just good timing?
A
Anthony Brown
Yeah, kids really do bounce back quick—our little one was running around the garden again two days after that nasty cold. My wife’s aunt had similar relief with her hands after visiting the icon last year, enough to start making her cabbage pies again. Was the line in Moscow shorter on a weekday, or did you just get lucky with the timing?
S
Sarah Campbell
That sounds like a proper family effort with little Sasha. My dad carried me on his shoulders during one of our hikes last year when I twisted my ankle, and it turned the whole thing into a bit of a laugh. Did your mum notice any change after the procession?
P
Paul Johnson
Yeah, family steps in like that and it sticks with you. My wife mentioned the icon seemed to bring a real calm over the crowd after the procession — even the kids quieted down a bit. Did your dad ever let you forget that ankle story?
S
Sarah Collins
Yeah, that calm really does settle in after a procession like hers — I noticed it too when we had the icon at our parish last year. My dad still brings up the ankle every time Matrona comes up, like clockwork. Did your wife feel anything similar at home after the event?
E
Elizabeth Taylor
Yeah, that calm after the procession is something else—my knitting group noticed it too when we prayed by the icon last month. My dad never let me forget the ankle; he'd bring it up at every family dinner. Did your wife take the icon home with her afterward?
S
Sarah Campbell
Yeah, that ankle story from your dad always makes me smile — mine twisted mine pretty bad on a hike last winter and the pain just eased right up after we prayed with the icon at home. My mum said the same calm stuck around for days, like the house felt quieter. Did the procession in Kstovo go on for long?
S
Samuel Taylor
Yeah, carrying the little ones does make those processions stick in the memory. My mum said the icon brought a quiet peace to the whole square, but she didn't spot any big physical change after. Did your dad ever pull out that ankle story at family dinners?
D
David Scott
Yeah, kids are tough like that—mine bounced back from the same bug in no time too. My roommate’s mum tried the icon last autumn on a Tuesday afternoon and the queue was only about forty minutes, so weekdays definitely help. Did your wife’s aunt manage to get any of those cabbage pies to the youth group after her hands improved?
D
Daniel Wilson
Yeah, that quiet after the procession really settles in, doesn't it. My wife and I didn't take the icon home—we left it at the church so more folks could pray by it through the week. Did your knitting group end up adding any specific prayers for the ankle trouble while you were there?
P
Photini Brown
Yeah, weekdays really do cut the wait time down. My wife’s aunt did get her hands working again after that and she brought a big tray of the cabbage pies to the youth group the next weekend—kids polished them off in about ten minutes. Did your roommate’s mum notice any difference with her own arthritis after she venerated the icon?
P
Photini Campbell
Yeah, weekdays are definitely the smarter bet for that kind of thing. My roommate’s mum said her arthritis eased up enough that she could knit again by the weekend, though the pies never made it to our youth group—my older daughter and her friends got to them first. Did your kids end up catching that bug from school or was it going around the neighbourhood?
