On July 21, a special thanksgiving prayer service was served in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Novaya Lyala, dedicated to the day of remembrance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and Blessed Procopius of Ustyug.

During the event, Priest Nicholas told parishioners about the history of the discovery of the miraculous Kazan Icon, which occurred in 1579, and also shared the life of Blessed Procopius, a former German merchant who, imbued with the beauty and depth of Orthodoxy, accepted the faith, remained in Russia and took upon himself the feat of foolishness in Christ. His life serves as an example of true self-denial and love for God, and the miracles revealed through his prayers still resonate in the hearts of believers.

A special event of the day was the presence of guests from Hamburg at the service. They presented the icon of Blessed Procopius of Ustyug as a gift to the temple - this gift became a special sign for the community. It is known that, according to legend, Saint Procopius came from those lands, and now a cathedral has been erected in Hamburg in his honor.
