In the Church of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers in the village of Razdolye, Priozersk deanery, work on decorating the Throne with mosaics has been completed. The products are made in a ceramic workshop by special ceramists under the guidance of experienced craftsmen. The project consultant was Alexei Gennadievich Kurochkin, a restorer of the highest category.
The foundation of the Throne has its own history. It is made from an oak tree planted under Empress Elizabeth Petrovna and for many years located at the entrance to the Catherine Park of Tsarskoe Selo. The tree witnessed many events: Pushkin and Akhmatova passed by it, the Royal Family followed the same route to exile, to the Yekaterinburg Golgotha.
The three-hundred-year-old oak tree was given to the parish by the management of the Tsarskoye Selo Museum-Reserve. By the time of transfer, the tree, already destined for demolition, had numerous damage from bullets and shell fragments. Having become the basis of the Throne, the oak thus received new life.
