In the Church of St. George the Victorious, the Main Orthodox Military Church of the Southern Military District, the transfer of unique devices took place: smart glasses for people with vision loss “Verona”. The owners were combat veterans who lost their sight from wounds.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region Dmitry Vodolatsky, head of the Diocesan Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies Archpriest Valery Voloshchuk, Deputy Director of Verona II Alexander Fetisov, representatives of the Rostov branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation and other public organizations.
The good deed began with a prayer for Holy Russia, which was performed by the rector of the church, Archpriest Valery Voloshchuk.
The owner of the unique glasses was a parishioner of the church, Vadim Chernonogov, who lost his sight many years ago as a result of an injury. Thanks to the new device, Vadim “saw” the interior of the church for the first time and was amazed. And upon returning home, smart glasses helped him take a fresh look at his wife, whom he had not seen for many years.
