On September 13, 2026, on the eve of the church new year, in the Church of St. George the Victorious - the Main Orthodox military church of the Southern Military District - the grand opening of the 2026/2027 school year in Sunday school took place. This year, about 150 students aged 7 to 15 will begin their education.

The holiday began with the Divine Liturgy in the crypt church of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. The service was performed by the parish clergyman, Archpriest Georgy Zhilin. The chants were performed by a choir of Sunday school pupils and graduates under the direction of Sofia Smorkalova. Teachers, students and their parents received Holy Communion of Christ.

At the end of the service, a musical theatrical performance was held for children and adults, prepared by students of the Rostov-on-Don branch of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov. Then the students gathered in study groups.

The clergy of the parish wished the pupils joy in learning and communicating with like-minded people, parents - strength and God's help in the spiritual education of their children, teachers - inspiration and patience in their work.
