An iconostasis was installed in the church in the village of Kholmogorskoyetranslated

A new iconostasis has been installed in the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Unexpected Joy” in the village of Kholmogorskoe. The work was carried out by the parish and benefactors.

Several years ago, the assistant dean of the churches of the Sharypovsky district, Priest Vasily Popovsky, blessed the community to collect donations. The collection was organized by parishioners Galina Nikiforova and Maria Dymchenko: they looked for craftsmen, negotiated and helped the priest with his chores. Through their efforts, a workshop was found in Krasnoyarsk, where icons will be made for the currently empty openings of the iconostasis. Support in the implementation of the plan was provided by trustee Denis Popkov, and the iconostasis was made and installed by master Yuri Dyuzhenkov.

On the day of the celebration of the icon of the Mother of God “Unexpected Joy”, the iconostasis took its place in front of the altar. The work continues: the next stage is filling the iconostasis with icons.

The church in the village of Kholmogorskoe, where about 2,000 people live, took three years to build and was consecrated in 2018.
