A conversation took place in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary about the feast of the Baptism of Rus'translated

July 28, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 26, after the Divine Liturgy, the rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the agricultural town of Goldovo, Priest Oleg Repetsky, held a conversation with parishioners about the upcoming holiday of the Baptism of Rus'. The priest recounted to the listeners the life of Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, in Holy Baptism Vasily.

Saint Vladimir, Equal to the Apostles, was once a pagan who accepted Christ with all his heart and completely changed his life. Red Sun - this is what the people called Prince Vladimir, in whose honor many churches were erected in Rus'.

Priest Oleg also urged parishioners to be worthy of the faith of our ancestors and to take care of the great heritage - the Orthodox faith, for, as the holiday stichera says, “in it is affirmation.”
