A solemn event dedicated to the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Mother’s Day took place in Gomeltranslated

On October 14, 2026, a solemn event dedicated to the Feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Mother’s Day took place at the City Culture Center of Gomel.

It was attended by representatives of the city authorities, the deputy corps, public organizations, labor collectives and the clergy. Mothers and grandmothers gathered in the concert hall, for whom words of congratulations and pieces of music were heard.

Deputy Chairman of the Gomel City Executive Committee Inna Gubar addressed those present with a welcoming speech. She noted the important role of the mother in the life of every person and the importance of preserving family values.

With the blessing of His Eminence Stephen, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, the cleric of the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, Priest Andrei Kisel, took part in the event.

The priest congratulated those gathered on the Feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Mother's Day. In his address, he noted that motherhood is a gift from God, and maternal love, care and patience have a special meaning in a person’s life.
