A new naval detachment has opened in the Yekaterinburg branch of the Brotherhood of Orthodox Pathfinderstranslated

At the beginning of October 2026, the opening of a new detachment of the Yekaterinburg branch of the “Brotherhood of Orthodox Pathfinders” took place. The detachment in honor of the holy passion-bearer Tsarevich Alexei became the second in the system of state additional education, which will close the request of parents for spiritual and moral education based on the Orthodox faith, noted the BPS.

The detachment received the blessing of the rector of the church in the name of the Holy Venerable Seraphim of Sarov, Archimandrite Hermogenes (Eremeev), to provide care at the church and assign the name “in honor of the holy passion-bearer Tsarevich Alexei” to the new detachment.

– This is an amazing blessing: the Tsarevich was a member of the Tsarskoye Selo squad of Russian intelligence officers, loved to spend time and learn from the sailors in naval service on the yacht “Standard”, was a young man who inspired the regiments to serve the Fatherland. Today this is a saint very close to pathfinders,” noted the BPS.

The squad's profile is marine. The main activities will be classes on the theory of yachting, shipbuilding, navigation and marine-themed events in winter. The maritime business is carried out by Denis Nikolaevich Girenko and Dmitry Vladimirovich Bakhterev.
