In the Drochievo district, a 19-year-old boy stole money from a church shop

Drochia police are investigating the theft of 256,200 lei from a church in the village of Tsarigrad. Police identified and detained a 19-year-old suspect, the General Inspectorate of Police announced on October 20.

The theft occurred on the night of October 19, around 03:30. According to preliminary data, the young man entered the church, including the church shop and altar, from where he allegedly stole money.

According to the police, the detainee may be involved in other similar thefts registered in several localities in Moldova.

The investigation is ongoing. The police are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and checking the possible involvement of the detainee in other crimes.
