Children of convicted women were baptized in the Mother and Child Home at IK-5translated

In the Mother and Child Home at IK-5 of the GUFSIN of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region, the sacrament of Baptism of children of convicted women took place. The sacrament was performed by the cleric of the Church of St. Luke of Crimea in Chelyabinsk, Priest Alexander Fedorov. Convicted women whose children are in the Mother and Child Home contacted the administration of the correctional institution with a request to organize Baptism. Many of them are members of the local Orthodox community, so this event was a conscious and important step for them. Before performing the sacrament, Father Alexander held a public conversation. The priest reminded the women of the high responsibility of motherhood and noted that faith helps a person maintain hope and find the right path even in the most difficult life circumstances. At the end of Baptism, each mother received a personalized icon with the image of the saint in whose honor her child was named.
