On October 12, 2026, on the 83rd anniversary of the liberation of the Dobrush region from the Nazi invaders, a burial ceremony was held in the Maryino and Lyadtsy tracts for the remains of seven Red Army soldiers and one civilian who died during the Great Patriotic War.
The event was attended by reserve officers, representatives of government bodies, labor collectives and educational institutions, as well as residents of the region. The funeral litany was performed by the dean of the district, Archpriest Alexey Pilipenko.
Addressing those gathered, Archpriest Alexey emphasized that it is important to preserve the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, including in prayer. He called on the participants to remember the fallen soldiers who showed courage and love for the Motherland.
In 2026, it was possible to establish the names of four more victims: Nikolai, Konstantin, Alexander and Gregory. Now they can be remembered in church prayer. Search work in the Dobrush region continues.
Participants honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the burial site.
