On the eve of the feast of the icon of the Mother of God “Spreader of the Loaves” in kindergarten No. 53 of the village of Ivanovskaya, a meeting of pupils was held with the rector of the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow”, Archpriest Vitaly Boyko, and the teacher of the Orthodox center “My Joy” Elena Kiva.

The children were told about the history and meaning of the revered image. The children learned that the name of the icon means “helping in labor for the sake of daily bread,” and examined the unusual composition: the Mother of God is depicted sitting on the clouds and blessing a field with sheaves.

During the conversation, the teachers talked with the children about the value of work, careful attitude to bread and gratitude to those who grow it. Preschoolers asked questions to the priest and shared their observations.

At the end of the meeting, the guests presented the children with gifts - books “First Steps in Orthodoxy” and sets for children's creativity.
