Today, October 15, 2026, on the day of memory of the holy righteous Theodore Ushakov, Metropolitan Ekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Evgeniy celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of the Novo-Tikhvin Monastery.

The name of the great admiral is associated not only with brilliant victories in naval battles, but also with the city of St. Catherine. The famous warrior also played a significant role in the life of the monastery, becoming one of the first benefactors of the monastery. Thanks to the patronage of Theodore Feodorovich, on December 31, 1809, the Novo-Tikhvin Convent was established by the Highest Decree. Therefore, the days of memory of St. Theodore Ushakov are celebrated especially in the Ural monastery.
