The Sacrament of Baptism of a serviceman was performed in the chapel of the Uzhur Missile Divisiontranslated

On October 4, 2026, the Sacrament of Baptism took place on the territory of the Uzhur missile division of the Strategic Missile Forces. In the chapel in the name of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara, who is revered as the heavenly patron of the missile forces, one of the military personnel of the formation accepted the Orthodox faith.
This step was preceded by serious spiritual preparation. The assistant commander for work with religious military personnel, Priest Viktor Yakushkin, who cares for the unit, regularly conducts a series of public conversations with military personnel, as well as spiritual and moral events. A deep understanding of the concepts of military duty, sacrifice and service to the Motherland strengthened the serviceman in his decision to accept the Sacrament of Baptism. Upon completion of the Sacrament, the newly baptized person received as a gift a body icon and a belt with an embroidered prayer “Alive in the help of the Most High.” Other soldiers who came to pray in the chapel that day also received the same spiritual support.
As noted in the connection, the work of a military chaplain not only helps soldiers solve assigned tasks - it first of all lays a moral foundation, which becomes the main support for a soldier in moments of testing.
