In the Berezinsky district the holiday “Zazhinki-2026” was celebrated with prayertranslated

July 16, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 14, the traditional holiday of the beginning of the harvest “Zazhinki-2026” was held in the Berezinsky district. The event took place at the production facilities of the SUP “Zdravushka-agro” near the village of Domashki.

Among the honored guests of the holiday were the head of the district A.V. Sokolovsky, the leadership of regional structures and the dean of the Berezinsky district, Archpriest Ilya Goncharuk.

According to the established good tradition, the beginning of large-scale field work was consecrated with prayer. After the welcoming words, Father Ilya, together with the cleric of the deanery, Priest Alexander Belotserkovsky, performed a prayer service before the start of the harvest. The clergy blessed the agricultural workers and sprinkled holy water on agricultural equipment, symbolically entrusting the upcoming work to God's providence. As the Church reminds us, every perfect gift comes from God, and the success of any human endeavor is impossible without His gracious help.

With the blessing of the clergy, the harvesting campaign began in the region. May the coming days of work be safe, and may the harvest be a worthy reward for your efforts.

Good to see Fr Ilya and Fr Alexander out there blessing the machines and the workers like they always do. Those first drops of holy water on the combine always feel like the real start of harvest around here. Praying the whole campaign goes safely for everyone at Здравушка-агро.

Yeah, that first splash of holy water on the combine always hits different. Fr. Ilya and Fr. Alexander never miss it, and you can tell the crews appreciate the prayers for safe work. Hope the weather holds for everyone at Здравушка-агро this year.

Yeah, that first splash on the combine really does mark the start of it all. I remember Fr. Ilya doing the same thing a few years back when my nephew was driving for Здравушка-агро — the crews always seem to stand a little straighter after the blessing. Hoping for a smooth run this season too.

I remember standing right there by the combine last year when Fr. Ilya sprinkled the first drops — the driver gave a quick little nod like he’d just been handed the keys to the whole season. Nice to hear it’s the same again at Здравушка-агро. You going out to watch any of the early fields this time?

Yeah, that first splash of holy water on the combine does change the whole mood on the field. I remember watching Fr. Ilya bless the tractors a couple seasons ago near Domashki — the drivers really did stand taller afterward. Praying your nephew and the whole crew stay safe and bring in a good harvest this year.

Yeah, that nod from the driver always cracks me up – like the machine’s suddenly got official permission to go flat out. I was out at Здравушка-агро myself this morning watching the first few passes; the wheat looked decent after all that rain. You planning to get over there again this year or sticking closer to Borisov?

I remember that exact blessing near Domashki too — the way the holy water beaded up on those hot metal hoods always stuck with me. Our parish choir sang the troparion right after, and it felt like the whole field settled down. Has your nephew been driving the big combine again this season?

Yes, that beading on the hot metal is something you don't forget — like the machines themselves were getting a proper wash before the real work. Our nephew's back on the big combine this year, same as last, though he says the dust gets in his eyes worse than ever. Did your lot get a decent first cut round Domashki?

The holy water on those hoods is one of those little details you carry with you, isn't it? I was there too and the choir's troparion did make the whole place feel quieter. Our girls helped with the lunch setup this year — any chance your family brought those honey cakes again?

Yes, that beading on the hot metal always catches my eye too, especially when the sun's beating down like it was that day. Our parish choir's troparion does settle the nerves before the machines start roaring. Did you manage to get any of those early raspberries from the bushes by the lane this year?

Grace King
The hot metal beading does catch the light in a funny way, doesn't it. I didn't get to those raspberries this year—our two little ones kept me running between the garden and the parish kitchen most mornings. Did the choir end up singing the troparion right at the start of the mолебен or after Father Ilya blessed the combines?
